In this thesis, the basic aspects about eddy current testing of Carburized layer depth were studied through theory calculation and experiment analysis. The knowledge of carburized layer depth measurement, eddy current testing, stimulation of eddy current electromagnetic field and software development were combined together for active groping research of finite element analysis and practical application. In the paper, taking cylindrical carburization workpiece as research object, the eddy current electromagnetic field model of axis-symmetric was built, and finite element method was used to solve the electromagnetic field. According to the value of electromagnetic parameters and the voltage signal of testing coil gained by the solution, the paper seeked the relationship between the carburized layer depth and electromagnetic characteristics based on impedance analysis theory. In order to describe the relationship visually, color images were generated to simulate the electromagnetic field based on the finite element calculation result. At the same time the carburized layer depth is predicted by the virtue of the relationship model forementioned. In order to realize the calculation and simulation analysis above-mentioned, eddy current testing of Carburized layer depth FEA system was developed in APDL and UIDL by using ANSYS software as second development base. The modules of Finite element preprocessor, Eddy current electromagnetic field solution, and the postprocessor, visualization processor are integrated in the software system, good graphic user interface also be offered. The software can realize the calculation and analysis with different parameters condition and the corresponding results can be saved for ulterior comprehensive analysis. The industry application of carburized layer depth measurement by eddy current testing has practical significance in carburization workpiece quality evaluation through NDT and is available to improve carburization technology, reduce the production costs, enhance productivity and ensure safe production.
