Dyeing and printing wastewater has characteristic of high temperature, high concentration of pollution, many kinds of colour and changes of quantity and water quality. With conclusion of experimental study, Upflow blanket filter biological reactor was designed, and industrial test of had been done for dyeing and printing wastewater treatment.Application and study of anaerobic reactors is now being one of the important topics in industrial wastewater treatment field. The key profiles affecting the practical application of anaerobic reactors are pollutants removal capacity, operational performance and configurations as well, which are affected in industrial application. Upflow blanket filter biological reactor is combined with sludge bed and filter bed. This study concentrated on the star, industrial test for high and ordinary concentration dyeing and printing wastewater treatment of upflow blanket filter biological reactor. The result of test indicated that the reactor has capacity of COD removal and colour, reasonable construction, safe and convenient operation in different concentration of pollutants as condition quantity. Upflow blanket filter biological reactor has specific property of quickly stared, short time in form particulate sludge and bearing dash load as high concentration of microorganism.The result of industrial test showed that COD removal rate is 38-69% in low or ordinary concentrate, colour removal rate is 67~75% in low or ordinary concentrate of pollutants between 20 to 30癈; COD removal rate is 34.1-73.6% in low or ordinary concentrate, colour removal rate is 67-75% in high concentrate of pollutants between 20 to 30癈. When the temperature goes up to 35-45 癈, the removal rate of COD and colour are low.For Jiangyin Kangyuan Dyeing and Printing co. Ltd, under the condition of meeting discharge standard, it can save one million yuan per year after adopting new upflow blanket filter biological reactor and optimizing the operation of two sets of wastewater treatment.
