An unsymmetric chiral Salen-Al(Al(III)(Salen)) catalyst 1 was prepared by the reaction of AlEt2Br with Salen, which was synthesized by (25)-l,2-benzylethylenediamine and a salicylaldehyde derivative. The diamine was formed from L-phenylalanine in six steps.The catalyst 1 as well as catalyst ll,catalyst 12 were applied asymmetric Strecker reaction.The effect of central metal and reaction conditions were discussed.
