After proper Friedel-Crafts post cross-linking reaction and animation under certain conditions, the new macroporous resins which have larger specific surface area and some alkalescent ion exchange groups have been prepared with polystyrene chloromethylated beads. Some physico-chemical properties and adsorption ability for total flavones of Chinese traditional medicines' decotum were tested. Detailed research on the adsorption of the resin to Radix Puerariae's total flavones have been done. Results showed, when the post cross-linking temperature was 55 ?, the catalyst's use level(AlCl3%) was 12 percent of the mass of polystyrene chloromethylated beads, the animation agent was triethylenetetramine and it was five times excess, the alkalescent exchange capacity of the WZA-35 resin synthesized was 2.168mmol/(g dry resin). The ratio of the alkalescent exchange capacity to the total exchange capacity was 95.55%. Its specific surface area was 195M2/g and the average pore radius was 20nm. The static equilibrium adsorption capacity for the Lutin solution whose concentration was 2000mg/L was 101.6mg/(g dry resin). In the dynamic adsorption, when the concentration of Radix Puerariae's total flavones was 1500mg/L, the flow rate was 2.5BV/h and the temperature was 25 ?, the working adsorption capacity was 41.0mg/ml and the adsorption efficiency was 91.0%. Its desorption efficiency can be up to 91.3% when 5BV(body volume) of 30% ethanol solution was used as desorption agent.of 30% ethanol solution was used as desorption agent. The adsorption efficiency of the WZA-35 resin to soluable components of Radix Puerariae's decotum was 24.23%. In the static adsorption to Radix Puerariae's total flavones, the velocity constant of the resin was 0.5615h-1.
