Studies On The Determination Of Heavy Metal Elements In Huaiyao By Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry Method

The detemiination of heavy metals is an important content in the controlling quality of traditional Chinese medicine area. As we all knew, the fLame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) is a valid method to determine metal element, and it is very nessary to establish some convenient, rapid and accurate methods to develop Huaiyao. There are four parts in this paper:In the first part, we discussed the advance of Huaiyao research and heavy metals determination. In the second part, The HNO3+HCLO4 method was applied to flame atomic absorption spectrometry and was successfully used to determine Copper, Zinc and iron in Huaiyao . This method is easy to determine the trace elements in Traditional Chinese medicines. Because the wet digestion not only wasted a lot of reagent and time butalso polluted environment , we tried to built a new method-suspension samplingtechnique , and went a further step to study many pretreatement methods : such as wet digetion method, high - pressure digetion method, ashing method , and the effect on FAAS of these methods. In the third part, as the sensitivity of FAAS is low for lead, cadmium, we have to enrich it before determination. As we knew that Sulfhydryl cotton is a resort to enrich, we established a new method to determine Lead by sulfhydryl cotton-FAAS method. In order to enhance the efficiency of Sulfhydryl compoud, increased the content of suLfhydryl group is valid. Based on this, we tried to make a new enriching reagent- Sulfhydry lactive carbon , the result is satisfying. In the fourth part, because the FAAS could not directly determine mercury and arsenmic, we tried to determine mercury by the indirect-FAAS method, it expand the using range of FAAS.Through the determination of some simples, we found the methods are practicable, they could be used to analysis the trace elements in traditional Chinese medicines and some botanic simples.
