Visualization simulation in press die is a combined applied technique, which puts the technique of numerical simulation of sheet forming in the core, and syncretizes lots of technique such as CAD, CG and CAM. It supplies a powerful tool for die design and optimizing of sheet forming technique, so that visualization simulation in pressing die becomes the one of front research direction of forming technique in the world and has very large advancing potential. This dissertation focuses on the key problem of visualization simulation in pressing die. The final aim is that numerical simulation system can simulate the process of processing forming technique, which can supply some necessary key parameter for die design. In chapter 1, the present development on visualization simulation in pressing die is reviewed, then, the purpose and the main line of the technique of the research is discussed. In chapter 2, the detail description of mechanical characteristic and key technique of sheet forming technique is provided in this chapter. Pressing forming methods is one of the most important forming techniques of metal forming. The remainder of this chapter analyzes these factors which may influence forming precision in pressing process. In chapter 3, it put forward the modeling technique in pressing process based on finite element methods. In chapter 4, the calculation methods of some key parameter such as spring-back, bending radius is expressed. In traditional methods, these key parameters are calculated by experience formula or select from data table. Then bring forward the calculation methods of key parameter in the case of drawing numerical simulation into pressing die design. In chapter 5, the detail process of numerical simulation is explained. In the view of two descriptions of workpiece contours ?NURBS and discrete piece, in order to calculate the value of key parameter based on data supplied by FEM, a numerical simulation application is finished. The numerical simulation is programmed on Microsoft Visual C++ with OpenGL as the graphics tool. In chapter 6, conclusion and some research directions of the future are summarized.
