Acetylenic monomers are a group of versatile building blocks for the construction ofπ-conjugated polymers and acetylenic polymerizations have emerged as useful techniques for the syntheses of advanced specialty polymers with novel molecular structures and unique functional properties. The catalysts are of fundamental importance in the research area of acetylenic polymerizations. By aid of proper catalysts, in previous works, our group has developed a series of functional polyacetylene (FPA)/inorganic nanostructure hybrids such as FPA-perovskites, FPA/carbon nanotubes, FPA/ZnO nanocrystals or FPA/CdS nanorods, and FPA/Ag nanoparticles. Based on the former works, this thesis work aims to explore some novel catalysts for the preparation of new functional polyacetylene derivatives.By using a zweitterionic Rh-catalyst, poly(pyridylacetylene) was synthesized, and its quarternized resultants afforded polyacetylenic polyelectrolytes (PE-PA). Based on PE-PA, composite of puaternized poly(meso-pyridylacetylene)s and Ag nanoparticles were prepared via an in situ photo-generation art. The conductivity of the composite films is in the category of typical semiconductor materials. Moreover, various Ag patterns can be formed by controllable irriadiation of UV-light.A disubstituted polyacetylene containing tetraphenylethene side group was prepared. This polymer exhibited pronounced aggregation-enhanced emission (AEE) behavior. It is the first AIE group containing disubstituted AEE-active polyacetylene, and its photophyscial properties are under investigation.Meanwhile, a catalyst system with new ligand to the Rh-catalytic center has been prepared and the primary experimental results have shown that it is efficient to polymerize acetylenic monomers with a few useful functionalities.
