| With global growing demand of energy resources, many non-renewable resources are scarce, so it is necessary to optimize the distribution of resources. As the core equipment of a cooling system, tube and shell condensers usually account for more than 35% of total costs. Accurate calculation and design of tube and shell condenser will play an important role in cost savings.This paper described the performance and design of tube and shell condenser in detail, and proposed an accurate design method according to the domestic and foreign published literatures. In order to improve the accuracy of design, stream analysis method was used for shell-side. To solve the problem of variable property, stepwise calculation method is adopted. Each subsection units was calculated by the current physical properties, the detail distribution of internal temperature and pressure drop can be obtained. Compared with the result of HTRI, it's proved that the design method feasible and accurate.As a result, the proposed design method can achieve the designing and verifying calculations of tube and shell condensers with variable structures and variable conditions, provides large amounts of data for design basis and experiment study. |
