As for the problem for raw materials or operation technics, the low molecular aldehydes and phthalates would be introduced into poly-vinylacetate emulsion when it was in process of production. The aldehydes would injure human skin, indigestion system and even nuclear immune system; and there were 6 phthalates (DMP, DEP, DBP, BBP, DEHP, DNOP) had been listed onto"priority controlling pollutants"by American Environment Protection Agency (EPA). So the rapid and accurate analysis of them became more and more important. This paper put forward with the determination methods of the two kinds of deleterious compounds, and it's main job could be explained out as the following four aspects:1. A method had been established for simultaneous determination of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in poly-vinylacetate emulsion-water based cigarette adhesives by high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector (HPLC-DAD). The adhesive sample was extracted with 50 mL deionized water for 20 min, and the extracted solution reacted with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine in an acidic medium, the formed phenylhydrazone were analysized on HPLC-PAD after it were filtered by a 0.45μm organic membrane. The limits of detection of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde were 3.6μg/L and 6.2μg/L respectively, and the recoveries of them were 98.59-102.23 % and 88.00-91.59 % respectively. The RSDs for formaldehyde and acetaldehyde were below 6 %.The method was simple and fast, accurate and steady, and it could be applied in quantitative analysis.2. A method had been established for simultaneous determination of 7 phthlates in poly-vinylacetate emulsion-water based cigarette adhesives by gas chromatography-flame ionized detector (GC-FID). The adhesive sample was ultrasonic extracted with acetone for 45 min, and the extracted solution were analysized on GC-FID after it were filtered by a 0.45μm organic membrane. The limits of detection of 7 phthlates were below 4.5μg/mL, and the recoveries of 7 compounds were 89.21-120.02 %. The RSDs for them were all below 6 %. The experiment exhibited that the method had the advantages of simple operation, high sensitivity and good repeatability.3. According to the two methods, we determined the aldehydes and phthalates in 70 domestic poly-vinylacetate emulsion-water based cigaretta adhesives samples and made a statistical analysis, which gave the support for the establishment of standards of aldehydes and phthalates in water based cigaretta adhesives.4. Had feel about the oxygen pyrolysis of DIBP in water based cigaretta adhesives. The lap adhesive was baked to dry at 105℃, then took a little for analysis on pyrolysis-GC-MS. It found that DIBP couldn't pyrolysis effectively under the temperature of cigarette combustion, and the volatile would transfered into human body. So the reduction of DIBP in water based cigaretta adhesives had became the key point of work later.
