Ecosystem health is a new concept that is put forward as an ecological tool for environmental management follow with the concept of sustainable development promotion at the late 80s of last century. It is the integrated science to study human activity, social organization, natural systems and human health. It has a broad application prospects in the ecological environment management. Mining is mainly for mineral resources exploitation and utilization to drive and support the economic and social development of special economic community. Mining of mineral resources development will damage the ecological environment; the decline in environmental quality will also restrict the regional economic development. As a management tool to mine ecological health assessment, to monitor and evaluate the ecological in the mining, and to restorate and reconstruct abandoned mine land according to ecological the ecosystem health standards, to achieve coordinated and healthy development about to the development of mineral resources and ecological environment, that will be strategic importance for rational development and utilization of mineral resources.According to the characteristics of ecosystem and concept of the ecosystem in mining area, the index system of the ecosystem health in mining area was set up and the evaluation standard was established. Aiming at the complexion in which the information lost in index ration, the matter element method was put forward to carry on the ecosystem health evaluation in mining area. Making use of the model set up, the weight was build up by the method of index number heavy, the matter element,classical field and limit field were set up. The rating hierarchy was calculated by relating function. As a case study in the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area, the results showed that there had been in good health and sustainable trend in the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area during 1999~2008 years, but the healthy degree was not high, parts of index had a depravation. Finally, according to ecological health assessment model derived from the trend results, eco-policy recommendations and workable measures will be put forward to promote the healthy development of mining areas.The conclusion are shown as below:(1) The target stratum, the criterion level, the target level and the target description are analyzed the complexed by ecosystem observation mining from the composition of ecosystems mining and sustainable development perspective, fully reflect the ecological environment, natural resources and socio-economic development of their own characteristics and ecological health of the connotation of mine. The criterion level is composed of degree of ecological environment protection, natural resources, support, degree of social and economic development. Each aspect is composed of certain targets.(2) The standard value (0.181) of the correlativ degree of the sub-health is the largest increasing degree about the health of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area.The standard value (0.004) of the correlative degree of the disease is the minimum increasing. The health of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area are the general disease,the general disease,the sub-health,the sub-health,the health,the health,the health,the health,the sub-health,the general disease in 1999-2008.(3) The standard value (0.014) of the correlativ degree of the the general disease is the largest reducing degree about the ecological environment health of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area. The standard value (0.007) of the correlative degree of the disease is the increasing.The ecological environment health of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area are the sub-health,the general disease,the sub-health,the sub-health,the sub-health,the health,the sub-health,the sub-health,the general disease,the sub-health in 1999-2008.(4) The standard value (0.082) of the correlativ degree of the sub-health is the largest increasing degree about the natural resources supporting health of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area.The standard value (0.002) of the correlative degree of the health is the minimum increasing.The natural resources supporting health of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area are the general disease,the general disease,the sub-health,the health,the very health,the health,the health,the health,the sub-health,the general disease in 1999-2008.(5) The standard value (0.005) of the correlativ degree of the disease is the largest reducing degree about the socio-economic development health of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area.The standard value (0.091) of the correlative degree of the sub-disease is the increasing.The socio-economic development health of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area are the general disease,the sub-health,the health,the sub-health,the health,the very health,the very health,the very health,the health,the sub-health in 1999-2008.(6) The standard value (0.014) of the correlativ degree of the disease is the largest reducing degree about the healthy sustainable of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area.The standard value (0.062) of the correlative degree of the sub-disease is the largest increasing.The healthy sustainable of the Pingyangsi town ecosystem in mining area are the sub-health,the sub-health,the sub-health,the sub-health,the sub-health,the health,the health,the health,the sub-health,the general disease in 1999-2008.
