In 1974, Fanaro? and Riley first noted that according to the luminosities at 178MHzand radio morphologies, radio galaxies were sharply divided into two groups, namelyFanaro?-Riley type Is(FRIs) and Fanaro?-Riley type IIs(FRIIs) with FRIs showing lowerradio luminosities than FRIIs. Since then, much progress has been made in investigatingof the two groups. Besides classical ways, there are many approaches to split radio sources. In this thesis, we collected a large sample of FRIs and FRIIs with observation data inradio, optical and X-ray bands. We calculated the optical spectral indexes and X-rayluminosities to search whether the two groups can be well separated in the optical andX-ray bands. Moreover with data in the three bands, we have got the spectral energydistribution(SED) for the two groups, and found that a strong correlation between thepeak luminosity and bolometric luminosity for the whole sample. The correlation stillexists even though we considered the two groups separable. In Chapter 1, we reviewed for the properties and structures of the radio galaxies, and saved a brief review for the classification of Fanaro?-Riley galaxies. In Chapter 2, we calculated the optical spectral indexes, then focused on the com-parison of the distribution for optical indexes of the two groups. We found the aver-age optical index for FRIs is greater than that for FRIIs,...
