Hydropower project risk assessment of geological hazards is an important research topic with the real sense to reduce disaster losses which results have wide applications, mainly as follows: It can provide the background information for hydropower projects in regional development and long-term planning; It also can provide the geological basis to determine a reasonable development of hydropower engineering. What's more, It is useful to evaluate the suitability of engineering construction land occupation for projects and infrastructure construction; Providing a working basis of contingency measures for the areas threatened by disasters as well as protect life and property in such area; At last, the hydropower project risk assessment of geological hazards is also a reference for the possibility of secondary disasters happened and relevant losses. In the thesis, we plan to carry out a preliminary study on geo-disaster risk assessment of hydropower engineering to establish a risk assessment methodology which is suited to hydropower project. And then make a geological disaster planning based on the perspective of risk management assessment. The first step of risk assessment is source identification (mainly contains, rockfall, landslide, debris flow). When we finish the identification of hazards we will establish some index system referred to the different area, such as the target of the hazard, the vulnerability, evaluation of classification models and methods of the table. We will also put forward the target methodology of quantitative and standardized methods for reservoir evaluation and the single waves due to single landslide. The factors of evaluation index system of district disaster include history, geology, and environmental factors and the list will goes on. The risk analysis of geological disasters direct to the regional scale (hub area and reservoir area), we were mainly used the method of semi-quantitative analysis which is cited by Dai form the research results of Morgan and others. The final results of risk assessment in thesis are divided into high, medium, awareness, and low risk.Liyuan Hydropower Project is used to be a sample to verify the whole risk assessment system based on the ILWIS. The finall result in Liyuan had been divided into four levels from low to high. The high risk area occupied 0.92km2 of the whole area with the number of 4.57%; The very low risks area is statistic about 5.93km2, accouting for 29.57% of the total assessment area. Considering the risk assessment results , we have had a initial study of the disaster risk management, which can be divided into four steps of planning, engineering measures, monitoring and early warning, disaster prevention and mitigation education, all of these result can be treated as a basis of the preliminary geological disaster risk management for Liyuan Hydropower Project.
