Polystyrene photonic crystal and a series of two-dimensional (2D) photonic crystals based on Polystyrene template were prepared, including two-dimensional photonic crystal of Hematite (a-Fe2O3) bowls and two-dimensional photonic crystal of Zinc oxide (ZnO) pillars, which offers a new idea on preparing two-dimensional photonic crystal. Optical properties of these photonic crystal nanostructures have been measured and investigated in our thesis. It mainly contains the following works and innovations:Three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) polystyrene photonic crystals have been fabricated through vertical deposition method and centrifugation method by adjusting different experimental conditions. Morphology of products was compared for differences in different methods and experimental conditions. The two-dimensional photonic crystal self-assembled at 40℃has better quality and higher efficiency. Large-area reflectance measurements show that the photonic stop band is 1148 nm. Besides, one-dimensional polystyrene photonic crystals were also successfully prepared via natural deposition method.Self-assembled PS is a simple, low cost and repeatability method to fabricate large-area two-dimensional photonic crystal. It offers a new idea on preparing two-dimensional photonic crystal.Two-dimensional (2D) photonic crystal of ZnO pillars was synthesized on silicon substrate by the combination of template method and vapor-phase transport method. The microstructure and morphology of the ZnO photonic crystal was evaluated by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Large-area specular reflectance measurements showed the presence of photonic stop band. The effect of the photonic band gap and the special structure on the photoluminescence (PL) properties of ZnO photonic crystal has been investigated. Both suppression and enhancement in the PL were observed. Raman scattering analyses demonstrated that the defect of ZnO photonic crystal exists in this experiment.Two-dimensional photonic crystal of a-Fe2O3 bowls was fabricated by polystyrene template. The effects of polystyrene template heated for different time on the morphology and field emission properties of a-Fe2O3 photonic crystal were investigated.
