Working efficiency and using life have always been the decisive factors in evaluating the performance of diamond tools. At present, most domestic and foreign efforts for improving working efficiency and using life of diamond tools start from the research of matrix formula. Working efficiency and using life of diamond tools could be changed by different matrix formula. However, the basic components of matrix can't be changed. So the function of this measure that is to promote the performance of diamond tools by adjusting various compositions of bond is still limited. The recent study of array pattern diamond tools which could promote the performance of diamond tools have come out, but because of the high cost of equipment, it's difficult for large-scale popularization. Diamond powder is used in grinding and polishing in traditional process, but rarely applied in diamond tools. Compared to changing the matrix formula, adding diamond powder as auxiliary abrasive into diamond tools can also promote working efficiency and using life positively, and this method costs lower, so it has higher research value and practicability.The researches in this project are as follows:(1) Domestic and foreign situations of research and development are summed up, and the measures to improve the performance of diamond tools are introduced, based on which relevant comments are given.(2) The sawing mechanism of diamond saw-blades is discussed. The wear performance characteristics of friction between diamond and workpiece,matrix and workpiece,chip and diamond and during matrix are analyzed in this paper. Based on mechanical analysis of segment and single diamond, the theoretical analysis basis about auxiliary abrasive's function in diamond saw-blades is provided.(3) The saw-ability of concrete is analyzed. Grinding mode of components of concrete is summarized when the saw-blades are working. The concentration and grain size parameters are rationally designed, and the diamond saw blade with appropriate formula for cutting concrete is confirmed. (4) The auxiliary abrasive of different parameters is applied into concrete diamond saw-blades. Through the cutting tests, the perfect formula of saw-blade for cutting concrete is selected. The results of the test are analyzed, guiding the optimized design of the auxiliary abrasive diamond saw-blades for cutting concrete.(5) With rock-breaking and abrasion mechanism of impregnated diamond bit, after petrologic and mineralogical properties of granite are analyzed, the auxiliary abrasive impregnated diamond bit is designed. Through indoor drilling tests, the impregnated diamond bit with diamond power which can significantly enhance the efficiency and life when drilling granite is found, and this conclusion is theoretically analyzed. It is proved that the way of adding auxiliary abrasive to diamond tools for improving the performance has positive value of research and practicability.
