This paper argues Wei Ji Chan Xiang (Detailed Explanation to Calculus) as a case. We analyse the situation of calculus about Chen Zhijian. In the basis of analysis we compare Wei Ji Chan Xiang to the similar works and discuss the gains and losses about Ancient Chinese mathematicians study calculus. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter briefly describes Chen Zhijian and his achievements in Chinese Traditional Mathematics. Mathematicians must be subject to the mathematical tradition sense. Chen Zhijian is no exception. After we study them, we can get better understanding of his situation on the study of calculus. In the second chapter, We discuss Wei Ji Chan Xiang's differential part. From this part we know that the Chinese mathematicians lived during the late Qing Dynasty failed to understand basic theorem on differential calculus and have no progress. The third chapter describes Wei Ji Chan Xiang's integral part. Volume V of the book is Chen Zhijian's highlights about the work of individual calculus, especially he solved the length, area and volume of grafik i funksionit by making use of integral.Chapter IV, we compare of Wei Ji Chan Xiang and the similar works and evaluate of Wei Ji Chan Xiang's strengths and weaknesses in the mass. It can help us to better understand the level of calculus what Chinese mathematicians.Chapter V compares Chinese and Japanese Traditional Mathematics to accept the situation calculus briefly. From the social background, political, policy and other areas as well as the mathematical characteristic of China and Japan, we discuss why Chinese Traditional Mathematics was given up.This paper argues Wei Ji Chan Xiang as a case. We analyze that Ancient Chinese mathematicians maintained the base of Ancient Chinese mathematics and did the innovative work about calculus. This paper analyzes Ancient Chinese mathematicians fail to study calculus and puts some light on this question.
