Dopamine was regarded as the important neurotransmitter, neuromodulator, and hormone in insect brain. However, it is very hard to detect with immunohistochemistry method because of its unstability in character. The article identified the position of dopamine-like immunoreactivity cell in protocerebrum and deutocerebrum and tritocerebrum of Ambrostoma quadriim-pressum brain, come to interpreted the distribution model of the dopaminergic cell bodies and fibers in feign death insects and its function in adapting to the environment, adopated the technic method of specimen treating in Octopamine immunohistochemistry. The results show that the number of the positive neurons is raletively small and the most of the dopaminergic-nuerons are tangential neurons, which symmetrically locate in medulla, between the optic lobe and lateral protocerebrum,in dorsal and ventral side of protocerebrum, lateral edge of deutocerebrum, lateral and dorsal position of the tritocerebrum. The fibers centralizd in central body of protocerebrum densly. But less stained in optic lobe ,olfactory lobe and mushroom body. Level fibers in tritocerebrum combine is dense immunned. Comparation to the dopamine immunohistochemistry experiment results in honey bee and locust reveals that three insects has the same positive reaction model, but in Ambrostoma quadriim-pressum and locust, there are positive cells in medulla while there aren't in honey bee. The result demonstrates that it functions as the same in insect brain except in modulating the optic information. High dopamine activity in the upper division of the central body indicate dopamine play important role in the two lateral protocerebrum hemisphere information integrating and modulate the information in controlling the idiosoma.
