The central area of Himalayas is located in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, unique location created a complex geological environment. Debris flow disasters in the region frequently happened , seriously affected to the local people's lives and property, restricted the sustainable development of local social and economic. Therefore, the objective, scientific analysis of debris flow occurred in the area of natural factors and human factors, accurately identify the threat of debris flow disaster area, take early and effective control measures and protective measures to reduce losses caused by disasters to maintain continuous and stable socio-economic development will have important practical significance. This article relied on china geological survey"the investigation and hazard mitigation measures of the Himalayas'serious geological disasters", depend on debris flow disasters in the central area of Himalaya, carry on research about risk assessment of mountain debris flow, hope to by means of theory to guide application, and provide technical support to prevention of the mountain's debris flow. The paper study debris flows of the central region of the Himalayas in the system point .on the basis of the actual field survey data and detailed analysis of existing geological data, I sum up the district's distribution of debris flow characteristics, according to the type of water source and forms, debris flow in the region divided to three types: valleys, slopes and glacial lake outburst debris flow. described the conditions and mechanism of their formation.According to the development of debris flow characteristics and formation conditions, preparing hazard assessment factors of debris flow, established of debris flow hazard assessment system, used of AHP to determine the weight of factors. On this basis, based on GIS platform dividing the study area accord to basin unit, watershed unit, respectively, the spatial analysis of the evaluation factors, and finally, I completed the debris flow risk zoning map of the study area. the study area is divided into a high risk of debris flow risk areas, high-risk area, risk area, low-risk areas and risk-free zone four, and evaluated them briefly .The study results show that the results of the regional debris flow risk assessment using GIS evaluation method are in line with the site investigation. The assessment model and criteria are accurate which provide references for similar mud-rock flows in other area. It has a theoretical value and practical significance.
