With the expansion of coal mining, it has brought enormous economic benefits, while the damage caused by coal mining is also growing. Ground fissures has become not only a serious problem on safety production, people's daily life, transportation, sanitation and so on, but also a threat on the natural environment. Only mastering the distribution and developmental level of ground fissures can significantly reduce the extent of the harm caused by crack.The coal seam overlying rock characteristics of the influencing factors are given and the distribution of ground fissures and its causes are analyzed by a large number of research data and field measurement data, the thick coal seam for the use of coal caving mining method, all of the management of roof fall of france led to the mountains of the surface cracks and combined with topography. That the huge gob which caused by the thick coal seams mining is the main reason leading to surface cracks.Through the analysis of different geophysical methods, combined with the geological environment, coal mining features and other factors have been studied, through selecting the EH4 and the rayleigh wave instrument by two kinds of geophysical equipments, doing electromagnetic sounding. The reliable depth of the surface fracture parameters is given. The detection depth is 60m.It is estimated that the geophysical prospecting techniques in the detection of cracks in the depth of coal mining is convenient, fast, and with low cost and can not only provide the point, the line and the surface of the information, but also interpret the results intuitively advantages. The geophysical methods can be convenient, efficient, economical and reliable accesses to the depth of the surface fracture parameters for the Ground Fissure in governance and the "three unders" coal mining technology development, coal mine production safety, disaster prevention and mitigation and urban and rural construction planning are with great significance.
