There has been large amount detailed species biodiversity research in Beijing, but few studies on the species distribution in different districts. More and more intensive human activities brought important impacts on the species diverisy and even more endangered suivivals of the speices. In order to effectively protect the species biodiversity in Beijing, this research focused on the species diversity of different districts in terms of taxonomy, systematics and biogeography. While using the biodiversity evaluation program, the text assessed biodiversity in Beijing via the seven assessment indicators of wild vascular plants richness, wild vertebrate richness, diversity of ecosystem types, completeness of vertical stratification of vegetation, species endemism, extent of biological invasions and extent of threatened species. In Beijing there are 2027 species of wild vascular plants and wild vertebrates, of which there are 230 species endemism and 111 species threatened and 67 species listed in State Redbook. The consequence indicated that Yanqing, Mengtougou, Miyun, Huairou, Changping have presented a moderate state of biodiversity, and Fangshan, Haidian, Pinggu, Shunyi, Daxing, Tongzhou, Central municipal areas presented a poor state of biodiversity. Compared with nationwide biodiversity, Beijing biodiversity presented general state. The study layed a scientific basis for proceeding research of biodiversity assessment nationwide.
