Using L-band ionospheric scintillation data of GPS signal in Guangzhou station, the characters of ionospheric scintillation over Guangzhou region (lower latitude) have been analyzed in this paper .Then the main achievements are showed bellow:First, in view of characters of ionospheric scintillation of lower latitude, irregularity-strength is inverted respectively in the methods of power spectrum, phase-scintillation indices and amplitude-scintillation indices,and the results have been analyzed and compared in the different conditions(different parameters). After that it has been primarily analyzed the reason of the difference of inversion, and also ascertained the best method of irregularity-strength inversion (amplitude-scintillation indices).Second, using ionospheric scintillation data of GPS signal, we have inverted irregularity-strength of Guangzhou region and Haikou region, and analyzed the intrinsic factors and external conditions (local time, solar activity, geomagnetic activity and geomagnetic latitude) which have effects on the irregularity-strength, and we get the connection of them.Third, in view of the above factors which have effects on the irregularity-strength, we get primary forecasting model of irregularity-strength at last. it will be stable foundation to scintillation forecasting.
