As a biologist and modern Darwinists, Mayr have made great contributions to the research concerning the biology and evolutionary theory. there will focuses on his theories of evolution in this article.I will introduce the developing history of evolution briefly, and describes the position of Mayr in the developing history of evolution. In the first chapter, I will introduce the origins of his evolutionism and the scientific backgrounds, and clarify his theory have inherited Darwin's evolutionary theory and learn from the other new achievements of science, especially from the life science, focusing on interpretation from the ecology, genetics and molecular biology research for the theory of evolution. In the second chapter, I will introduce the evolution's evidences that Mayr had got, mainly about fossil evidence, evidence of embryology, molecular biology and other aspects. The third chapter is the main part of this article, there will introduce the theoretical framework of Mayr's biological evolution. It mainly contains the horizontal evolution, the vertical evolution, and the macro-evolution in his theoretical system. In the part of the horizontal evolution, I will discuss the causes for the species diversity, including his development for the species concept, and the manners of forming new species, which Mayr had studied. In the part of the vertical evolution, I mainly discuss the life how to adapt to their environment, interpretation that the biological adaptation to the environment is the result of mutation and natural selection. In the part of the macro-evolution, I will discuss the speed and the trend reflected in evolution, the necessity and the chance, the intermittent and the progressive, the understanding about the evolution and progress on the evolution. In the forth chapter, I will introduce the human evolution, main about the origin of human and the way human how evoluted, and the bearing of human morality. The last chapter is the summary of the full text, which briefly discusses the important contributions of Mayr's evolutionary theory, and the status and influence in the history of evolution of mayr.
