As the fundamental step of water circulation and the vital element of water balance, the runoff plays an active role in the natural environment. With the further study of global change, more and more attention is paid to time dimension, and then runoff gradually becomes one of the focuses of the research owing to its close relationship with the human life and production. Therefore, it is of great significance to seek the laws of the development and evolution of the runoff by means of analyzing the change the runoff and find out the reasons contributing to these changes, because it is enormously beneficial to further the understanding of the properties of water resources, to offer convincing evidence for exploiting the water resources sensibly and to adjust and control the process of the exploitation. With the development of economy in the whole river basins, the demand for water in agriculture and industry as well as actual ecological water requirement are on the increase, it is very necessary to conduct research on the program of distributing water resources in the whole basin, which strengthens the necessity of furthering the research of the changes of the runoff in the small and medium river basins. This research is of great significance to make full and sensible use of the water and to construct a water-efficient society as well as to maintain the healthy ecosystem of rivers.Based on the current research both at home and aboard, the thesis analyzes the detailed changes of the runoff of the water in Tuojiang River Basin through Ann-Kendall Method, Anomaly Method and the analysis of mathematical statistics. Accoring to the statistics achieved by the hydrometric station in Dengyingyan of Zihong County which lies in the middle reaches of the river, it attempts to develop a clear understanding of the runoff of the Tuojiang River and to explore the find out the characteristics and tendency of the changes as well as find out the reasons responsible for the changes. Therefore, it is of practical value and theoretical significance to conduct the research of the changes of the runoff in the hydrometric station in Dengyingyan. This paper involves the following sections: Part I, Introduction. This section introduces the background information, the present situation of research, the content of research and research methods. It points out the present situation of research on the change of the runoff both at home and aboard and mainly states the necessity and significance of the paper by applying relevant theory and taking all the aspects of Tuojiang River into consideration.Part II, A Survey of Tuojiang River Basin. This section first gives a general introduction to the whole area; by selecting the Tuojjiang River basin, a one-level branch of Changing River, as the object of the research, it focuses on the detailed statistics achieved since from 1981 by the hydrometric station in Dengyingyan of Zihong County of Neijaing City, considers the natural conditions and social and economic condition of the local area and analyzes these data, aiming at finding out the evidence and reasons for the conclusion.Part III, An Analysis of the Characteristics of the Change of Annual the Runoff. Based on the statistics obtained in each year and through the analysis of data, this part adopts C1(Uneven modulus C1)and Cn(Concentrative Degree) to conduct the relevant analysis and eventually finds out the characteristics of the annual distribution of the runoff.Part IV, An Analysis of the Annual Changes. According to the detailed data in the past fifty-six years, this section analyses the diversification, distribution, phasic variation and mutagenicity and use relevant methods to get the annual characteristics of the changes of the runoff.Part V, Facts Contributing to the Changes.
