Energy Security already becomes basic policy of a state. Importance as petroleum sources of energy supplements, oil shale exploration is made use of being the general trend already. But, our country oil shale resource exploration degree is badly lower, and the research of metallogenic theory and exploration techniques yet further study. Accordingly, the thesis choose 5 oil shale basin of representative and comprehensive study in Cenozoic of eastern China as in the study area, including Fushun basin and Huadian basin in Northeast China, Huangxian basin in East Coast, Maoming basin and Danzhou basin of Northern South China Sea. Comprehensive use of structural geology, sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, palaeoclimatology, ore mineralogy, multidisciplinary in order to discusses metallogenic features of oil shale fault basins in the Cenozoic of Eastern China.Paper studied the characteristics of paleoclimate and paleontology in order to confirmed there have rich organic sources in the basin of eastern China in Cenozoic. Secondly, base on systematic collection the data of basin in Eastern China of Cenozoic, we went to visit HuaDian, Fushun, Huangxian, MaoMing and Danzhou in order to summarize the oil shale basins stratigraphic development and metallogenic features.We studied Maoming basin's structural feature and formation and evolution through the data collection and field sampling in the basin. In geological aspects, shearing strike slip faults by basin peripheral are the direct cause of Maoming basin formation and Gaopengling fault also plays an important controlling role to control the basin development. The paleogene and neogene formations were cut into all kinds of block by fault in the basin. Moreover, the oil shale formation were damaged and it makes the oil shale generated disconnected. In exploration aspect, data of oil shale petrophysics measurement indicate that density for 1.52~1.97×103kg/m3, magnetic susceptibility for 26.6~206.4×10-5SI, magnetic remanence intensity for 2.0~186.0×10-3A/M. Statistical characteristics of data for Maoming oil shale mine area indicate the difference between oil shale and the surrounding rock such as density, magnetism, electrical property and radioactive elements. A suitable method of geophysical exploration method technology combination is put forward according to the difference in similar mine area.The paper also introduces continental sequence stratigraphic and using the scheme of four division theory establish formation sequential patterns graph. It maybe has universal practice of sequence stratigraphy pattern of the terrestrial rifted basin in China. According to the five oil shale basin structure and sedimentary characteristics, the basin format on the cretaceous sedimentary basement. Sedimentary facies are mainly mid deep-deep lake phase. Immersion depth and sea basin generate rich deposits oil shale. Fault of basin formation and evolution plays a leading role.
