Henan province is the most important molybdenum producing district in China, molybdenum deposits are concentrated in the Xiong'ershan-Waifangshan Mo polymetallic belt of the southern margin of the Archean North China craton. Songxian county, which belongs to the East Qinling Mo concentration belt,is located in the southern margin of the Archean North China craton and in the east of the Machaoying fault.Porphyry molybdenum deposits and porphyry copper (molybdenum) deposits are the most important source of molybdenum in the world. Other important molybdenum deposits include skarn molybdenum deposit and quartz vein molybdenum deposit. Porphyry molybdenum deposits are the most important source of molybdenum in China. Recently, many quartz vein molybdenum deposits are discovered in Henan province and some of these deposits reach medium size. This implies quartz vein molybdenum deposits have became an important source of molybdenum. Based on a lot of fieldworks and evidences from petrology, mineralogy and geochemistry, this paper put a detailed study on the Zhifang, Daxigou and Tulingcun deposits, analysis on Genesis and Prospecting Potential. We propose post volcanism fluids are responsible for the formation of the K-feldspar-quartz vein molybdenum deposits which are related to volcanic edifices. Mo-Zn-Sn deposits in the Taihua group near the Xiong'er group volcanic rocks may also form by magmatic fluids from distant volcanism. As K-feldspar widely present in the molybdenum mineralization quartz veins in this region and it has a relatively high and limited precipitation temperature than quartz, we define the K-feldspar bearing quartz veins as K-feldspar-quartz veins to better reflect the origin of the veins. Evidences from fluid inclusion research imply K-feldspar-quartz vein molybdenum deposits formed form high temperature fluid which was undergoing fluid immiscibility during the vein formation.K-feldspar-quartz vein molybdenum deposits are a new kind of molybdenum deposits. We advise to do more researches and explorations on these deposits and quartz vein deposits near the volcanic rocks of the Xiong'er group, especially in the Taihua group. The exploration of K-feldspar-quartz vein molybdenum deposits leads us to realize we should put more attention on the research of the geology, geochemistry, and distribution characteristics of the K-feldspar-quartz vein molybdenum deposits in order to build the genetic model of these deposits and further benefit the exploration of mineral resources.
