| New product development has become the source of enterprises'competitive advantages, but it is also a complex process with many uncertain factors. Therefore, it is necessary to apply advanced technology effectively to manage, control and standardize the design and manufacture of the product quality during the whole process of new product development before putting it into production.In this paper, the research and development of large Newton chromatic dispersion experiment system in Guangdong Science Center is done, and expounds the application of technology and quality management, a new cross-disciplinary of engineering technology and quality management, in the field of new product development. During the whole process of research and development, technology and quality management theory is used to analyze and optimize the process of design. And optics, mechanics and electronics are used to solve the quality problems that encounter in the development process.Firstly, the optical part of Newton chromatic dispersion experiment system is designed, during which orthogonal experimental design method has been applied to the design of prototype tests.Secondly, the mechanical fastening and transmission devices of the system are designed. And then various quality control tools, such as the figure of causality analysis and system chart, are used to assist the analysis and design for reliability of this system.Finally, analyze the research and development on Newton dispersion experiment system with technology and quality management theory. Basing on the achievement of research and development of this system, the experimental results of the debugging process of Newton chromatic dispersion experiment system are analyzed.The research done by this paper can conduct to put Newton chromatic dispersion experiment system into market production, and it can serve as a reference for the application of technology and quality management in the field of new product development.
