One of ChangE-1 Lunar Orbiter's specific scientific objectives is to retrieve Lunar Soil thickness. It is very essential and significant to investigate on lunar soil due to the existence of abundant 3He and ilmenite in the lunar soil and their possible utilization.Lunar soil is detected by Microwave Radiometer, one of the main payloads onboard ChangE-1 Lunar Orbiter. Microwave Sounder is used to collect Lunar soil and rocks'brightness temperature data at different depth, in order to retrieve Lunar Regolith thickness. It is the first time to detect the moon by using Microwave Radiometer in the world.Based on layered medium model, the influence of lunar surface scattering on lunar regolith bright temperature is analyzed in order to make the retrieve result more soundly. On the other hand, after the orbiter was launched into the orbit, a data processing program is developed and optimized to monitor the satellite data's transfer validity.Lunar surface can be regarded approximately as two-layered medium consists of lunar soil and lunar rock. Firstly, the characteristics of microwave radiation of lunar soil were studied and discussed in the paper to fully understand the principles the microwave detections. Then, in order to build up scientific model of brightness temperature, the paper emphasized particularly on introducing two different models.Single-layer model of brightness temperature radiation was adopted in this paper, without taking particle scattering into account. Because the view direction of Microwave Radiometer is0 , we use bistatic scattering coefficients of the Kirchhoff approximation (KA) to calculate the emissivity and get the brightness temperature.In this paper, based on correspondence engineering requirements, a data processing program is developed by using MATLAB Software. In order to increasing the efficiency of mass data processing, methods were brought out to optimize the programe.
