In 1960s the appearance and application of computer technology provide the feasibility of quantitative simulation of sedimentary basin infilling. The simulation of sedimentary basin infilling is a technology that provides a simple, direct and economic approach for the geologists to study the complicated geological process. The geologists abstract their understanding to the sedimentary process and find the mathematic and physical disciplines, even the experiential formulas. And then they reappear these disciplines by computer program. The geological process can be shown directly by the computer graphics. The geologists would examine and perfect the reappear as to test their prediction and predict directly in the work by the reappear.The computer simulation of sedimentary basin infilling has developed for half a century and now it becomes a mature technique. It went through three stages, which are model exploration stage, experiment stage and application stage. Now the technique has been applied to teaching, theoretical research and oil-gas exploration. It gets more and more attention.But at home the research of simulation of sedimentary basin infilling is much later than abroad. Without of the model exploration stage, the internal scholars always adopt the mature models from abroad. This situation limits the new model exploration and this restricts the research of simulation of sedimentary basin infilling radically. At the same time, the lack of inter-disciplinary talent causes the bad situation of the simulation software designing, not only the few quantity but the poor quality.To the problems at home, this thesis explores the sedimenting, transporting and eroding models under three-dimension. And according to these models, it designs the computer simulation software. This simulation software is designed with the methodology for object-oriented design. The software is consistante and easy to use. With the basic drawing function of the OpenGL, the software is developed under the VC++ integrated development environment. Using the experience of abroad success for reference, this software provides several display types, which are plan type, section type and cross type. Each of these display types can be transformed into another. And for every display types, the software provides the graph zooming, moving and visual angle changing functions.Using the simulation software, it simulates the infilling progress of the Wendong region, Dongpu sag duiring the 40.5Ma to 38Ma by 20×15km. It analyzes the simulation result by comparing with the actual data and proves that the simulation result coincides with actual data very well.
