After concluding and summarizing the research achievements of predecessors,field observations and analysis indoor,some pieces of conclusions and recognitions about tectonic characteristics and their evolution in eastern Sichuan and Chongqing area were obtained as follows:1.The tectonic deformation strength and structural style has obvious differences in horizontal,portrait and vertical.Horizontally divided into Huayingshan thrust folded belt, Sichuan-chongqing ejective folded belt,fangdoushan-qiyaoshan intermediate belt and east Chongqing,Hunan,Hubei trough-like fold belt.These fore belts belong to Xuefeng mountain land tectonic deformation system.Portraitly divided into the northern section,the middle section and the southern section.The northern section curved distribution and deflection to NEE,the middle section shows NNE,and the southern section deflection to south-north.Vertically existed many detachment surfaces,two major surfaces were Siluric surface and another between the root and the cap rocks.Those detachment surfaces controlled the structural style.2.The folded distortion power source was Xuefeng mountain intracontinental orogenic belt.The tectonic point was southeast to northwest,but many folds and fault pointed northwest to southeast in east Sichuan.The reason was that:the Sichuan micro-plot resistanted the power coming from southeast,the power changed its direction,formed the resistance of micro-plot of middle Sichuan.The power from recoil structure.3.Today's structural style of study area experienced a long-term tectonic evolution.The area lift and began to be weathered in Indo-Chinese epoch.Entering Yanshanian,the strongly orogeny of Xuefeng mountain began,it made the study area to deformate obviously,and the deformation strength gradually weakened from east to west.Entering Himalayan,the previously formed folds had been transfomed again and the deformation strength in esat Sichuan became stronger,and the final folded style formed.
