With the development of the genome projects of human and some model organism, huge database of molecular sequences have been generated. The storage, management and analysis of these sequence data promote the development of molecular biology. With the increasing of gene sequences, the graphical representation is becoming important for studying biological sequences. So how to give effective graphical representation of biological sequences,to study the phylogenetic relationships are the important problems in Bioinformatics. This thesis is focus on graphical representation of biological sequences and its application. The main contents of this thesis are listed as follows:In Chapter 1,we introduce some basic knowledge of bioinformatics and the Human Genome Project. In Chapter 2,we introduce some typical graphical representations of bio-sequences.In Chapter 3,we propose a new 4D graphical representation of DNA sequence base on the study of Z-curve.Similarity and dissimilarity analysis base on this 4D graphical representation are given for the first exon genes ofβ-globin of eleven species. In Chapter 4,we propose a 2D graphical representation of gene sequence base on triplets of nucleotide bases.Similarity and dissimilarity analysis base on this 4D graphical representation are given for the first exon genes ofβ-globin of eleven species.
