Study of methyl orange (MO) the azo dye-doped polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) thin film nature of the photo-induced birefringence and optical properties of birefringence in optical switch ,optical storage and optical modulator applications.The use of semiconductor laser (473nm) as excitation light, He-Ne laser (632.8nm) as a probe to study film of different dye concentration of photo-induced birefringence, with the increase in dye concentration, thin film samples the degree of photo-induced birefringence response increased. Photo-induced birefringence of optical power and motivate, stimulate and detect the direction of light polarization direction of optical polarization angle, the relationship between the excitation frequency.
