Tree-ring increment cores of Pinus tabulaeformis were sampled from alpine timberline at an altitude of above 1219m,on MT. Song-Natural Reserve, located in Beiijing. Plants at this transitional zone are very sensitive to climate change, and it is very ideal sampling places , we take traditional dendrochronology researching method to bulid the tree-ring width chronologies. According to the discipline of dendrochronology , the relationship between tree-ring width index (RES chronology) and climate variables were studied. It was found that warmth index ( WI ) and drought index ( Ii ) are closely correlated with tree-ring width index. As a result, warmth index ( WI) and drought index ( Ii ) from 1959 to 2007 were reconstructed. The average of 49-year-warmth index (WI) is 86.8, and the average of drought index ( Ii ) is 5.6, We can conclude from the analysis that MT.Song-Natural Reserve is one of low temperature and high humidity area in Beijing. We simulate the rainfall of June , warmth index ( WI) and drought index (Ii) from 1933 to 1958, using the regression equation. These results are in good agreement with many other studies upon the Little Ice Age climate ,and can be of great value to studies on climate change during Little Ice Age in China.
