Assessment about the impact of Earthquake on ecological is used to evaluate effects of earthquake impact on the eco-system and components.The Wen chuan Earthquake on May 12th not only caused huge death,toll,injuries,and economic losses,but also affected local environment seriously.As one of the most serious natural disasters,earthquake normally brings huge ecosystem damage.But the quantitative assessment to this kind of ecosystem damage is relevant difficult.A involves a complex giant system,It has vast amounts of spatial data and attribute data,in the face of the Earth's digital and informatization,Traditional assessment methods are out of the date,new scientific and technological development provide a strong and powerful tool for the management of analysis,simulation of geo-spatial data and attribute data.Remote sensing technology is recognized as an important measure for the Eco-environmental Impact Assessment in disaster area,remote Sensing Image is an important carrier for Eco-environmental information,Multi-source remote sensing image plays an irreplaceable role in Eco-environmental monitoring and impact assessment.Papers use the Wenchuan earthquake disaster area as the study area,interpret and analysis the remote sensing data based on RS technology,then discuss application of ERDAS in assessment about the impact of Earthquake on ecological,combination of eco-environmental impact assessment technical specifications and the results of previous studies,then based a new ecological environment evaluation index system and evaluation model,ombined with the standard map at earthquake sites around the Landsat TM / ETM images,conventional map and relevant statistical data,then analysis the impact of the situation of ecological environment in earthquake disaster,calculate the impact of changes in degree of ecological environment,discuss the earthquake disasters on the impact of various indicators of subsystem.The productions are follows.(1) Remote sensing data is timely,detailed,accurate and economic,this paper use the ERDASSoftware to interpret and analysis the remote sensing data,using remote sensing technology is adapt to the current development needs of remote sensing technology.(2) Nation promulgated eco-environmental impact assessment technical specifications in the year 2006.Combined with the special of assessment about the impact of Earthquake on ecological,then based a new ecological environment evaluation index system and evaluation model.(3) The results show that woodland area reduced from 1794606.9 hm~2 to 1744297.9 hm~2,the area which reduced about 50309 hm~2,2.80 percent of catastrophic disasters, grassland area reduced from 764830.1 hm~2 to 747951.2 hm~2,the area which reduced about 16878.9 hm~2,2.21 percent of catastrophic disasters,arable land area reduced from 616534.5 hm~2 to 609840.7 hm~2,the area which reduced about 6693.8 hm~2,1.09 percent of catastrophic disasters,soil erosion area increased from 13434800 hm~2 to 1481200hm~2, the area which increased about 1.09 percent of catastrophic disasters,Landslide Lake area trails is about 33491hm~2.(4) There are five degrees of the impact of changes in the ecological environment(DICEE):No significant change,Slight changes,Larger changes,Significant change,Destructive change.As the eco-environmental impact value increasing, ecological environment value is from no significant change to destructive change,it reflects the impact of the ecological environment at each stage.(5) The pre-disaster impact index is 19.74 which is calculated on Evaluation model, the post-disaster impact index is 18.95,the impact of changes in the ecological environment is 0.79 which belongs to Significant change,obviously it means ecological environment deteriorated.Evaluation result shows the the Wenchuan earthquake' s effects in ecological environment to the Wenchuan region.Assessment about the impact of Earthquake on ecological which combined the eco-environmental impact assessment and the remote sensing technology is a effective measure.This evaluation have many advantages,such as data acquisition technology is relatively easy,informative,objective and so on.With the scientific development,remote sensing technology will be play a more important role in the assessment about the impact of Earthquake on ecological.
