| Mathematics is very important status in production,form and development of modern science. This dissertation compares and reflects on classical mathematics between Chinese and Western,points that classical mathematics in Chinese differs from Western,former is a constructing and mechanizing system,and latter is logical and deduct system.The notable master of science history Dr. Needham asked a remarkable question in the third volume of his works "Chinese Science and technology History": China, the ancient mathematics had presented the magnificent development time and been superior to the other nations in the quite long historical period . However, why did not modern science sprout out of modern Chinese Civilization, but origin from Europe of the 15th century? This is the question "Needham Question" noted by academic circles.Plentiful historical states and classic instances are utilized, abided by principles of science progress, which comes from the variety of views and differentiated facets, with analysis and exploration of theory. To such a complex question, it is rare possible to make a systematical interpretation in a whole and only sketchy exploration from theory could be presented from some elementary facets.
