In this works, four kinds of polymer/metal compsite were succefully synthesized for radiation protection materials, i.e. poly(sodium-p-styrenesulfonate) resin/nanoplumbum composite, plumbum polyacrylate/nanoplumbum composite, polyethylene/plumbum methacrylate composite and polyimide/plumbum nitrate composite. The properties of these obtained materials were further investigated and their shielding effects were then measured. The poly(sodium-p-styrenesulfonate) resin/nanoplumbum composite was synthesized using strong acidic cation exchange resin of styrene system, and its properities were characterized with FTIR and UV spectroscope. The plumbum polyacrylate/nanoplumbum composite was prepared through a route of in-situ polymerization, followed by remolding to stratified structure. FTIR, UV ,SEM, were carried out to identify its properties. Furthermore, the shielding effect of above materials were measured on NaI detector by using 137Cs and 60Co asγ-ray source. Results showed those two kinds of materials are low density and high shielding effect toγ-ray. The polyimide/plumbum nitrate composite was derectly synthesized using a simple route of direct-doping. The influence of addition reagent to its thermal stability of was analysed through the research on intrinsic viscosity and weightlessness. Afterwards, HPGe detector was used to study the shielding effect of such material.
