Both the exploring phase and the developing phase, plotting reservoir thickness has been one of the main tasks for the oil workers and oil and a very important basic work in the process of gas field exploration and development. At the same time, it not only has a direct and close contact with the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas, but also is the important parameters in reservoir evaluation. Reservoir thickness is an important basic to guide oil and gas field exploration and development, and identify the size of investment.After more than 40 years of waterflooding development, now Sanan development area has been into the high water-cut developing phase and the mining speed is dropping rapidly. To keep the production in stability, mining objects have change from the main reservoir to the thin, poor reservoir. At the same time, the enhanced oil recovery technology has been put into use which is to mine residual oil in water flooding layer further. The interpretation of the water flooding layer in thin and poor oil reservoir has been a long-standing problem in the oil field development. The fine water flooding layer explanation in thick oil layer is a new and difficult point. Facing against the geological problems in oilfield development, the logging companies are developing new logging equipment. Logging series vary from the 1960s lateral logging, the 1970s simplified lateral logging, the 1980s flooding district logging to the current new logging series. Finding out the law of evolution of thickness explained by each logging series , especially on the adaptability of the thickness.As the oilfield development work deepens further, exploring oil and gas becomes more and more difficult. In order to enhance oil recovery, the most important thing is to ascertain the oil reservoir thickness accurately. So analysing and researching factors which influence the reservoir thickness division and finding out the main factors on reservoir thickness division and the impact mechanism will provide elaborate basic for Sanan development area in high water-cut period which is not only of great theoretical significance, but also equally of great practical significance.Analyse the influence of the factors to the log interpretation, such as a series of logging, mud properties, formation pressure, formation fluid nature. Through the core data analysis, Saertu oil layer is more reasonable in using high-resolution travel time to deduct interlayer. The unwanted and missed in Putaohua oil layer is basically equal and the missed in Gaotaizi oil layer is obvious. At the same time, the original electrical standard in Gaotaizi oil layer is reasonable, while the standard in Sa and Pu oil layer is unreasonable.Putting the thickness standard into Nan 6 area three-yuan complex driving well in Sa and Pu oil layer, the interpretation accuracy reaches 87.5% and achieves better results.
