Geological reserves of buried hill reservoir in Liaohe Oilfield has reached 100 million tons, this type of reservoir has some characteristics ,such as reservior lithology dense, reservoir strong heterogeneity , low use level of exploitation by vertical well, The study of exploitation mode about buried hill reservoir also become increasingly important.The complex structure well technology was developed in the 20th century.It has advantages of increasing oil output, saving ground costs, enhancing economic efficiency and others. The complex structure well includes horizontal well, branch well, sidetrack horizontal well, and other types.Now,on the exploitation of oilfield either domestic or international, the complex structure wells have been widely used in various types of reservoirs, especially in heavy oil, thin reservoir, botom water, fractured reservoirs, natural gas reservoir , the advantages are more remarkable.The applying area of this technology is not restricted , and more than 45,000 complex structure wells were drilled allover the world till 2005.A new special reservoir found in XX block in the Liaohe Oilfield, called XX buried hill reservoir,is the target of our study.Based on the research of the application status quo of complex structure wells at home and abroad, carried out reservoir bed and reservoir characteristics research in this area, established a geological model, applied numerical simulation and analog in applying research of complex structure wells, searching how to exploit buried hill reservoir by complex structure well. implementated six complex structure wells show good results, this study provides some new ideas for the exploitation of Buried Hill reservoir in Liaohe Oilfield.
