Tracer technique between wells is an important technology that carries on the dynamic monitor in the oil field development process,it is an important technological means that studies the oil field injection fluid flow direction, the advancement speed and the formation connectivity situation. The is the material which must be used to the oil field tracer technique between wells, whose nature must have the characteristics such as steady and good, formation adsorption less, synchronized with the injection fluid good, safe, non-toxic and so on, its detection technology should meet the demand that easily to be examined, the sensitivity high. This paper has proposed the optimal method of the oil field tracer between wells, and compared , analyzed and appraised the performance of the tracer used to the oil field at present, offered the important information for the selection and application of the oil field tracer in the future. In the liquid tracer material aspect, has elected the new liquid tracer ammonium ion, whose nature accords with the oil field liquid performance requirement, meanwhile through the laboratory experiment, established interior determining methods of Nessler's reagent spectrophotometric colorimetry and nitroso-iron cyanide sodium spectrophotometric colorimetry for the liquid tracer ammonium ion , through two kinds of examination methods experiment appraisal, nitroso-iron cyanide sodium Spectrophotometric colonimetry determination of ammonium ion method is more suitable for the oil field tracer testing requirements; the new liquid tracer ammonium ion which be applied to oil field scene extension, gets very good application effect. In the field of gas tracer, has elected new gas tracer F6 and F12, whose nature accords with oil field gas tracer performance requirement, established interior examination method of new gas tracer F6 and F12 by adopting chromatographic of gases. Evaluation of interior experiments show that the detection method accords with the oil field tracer technology need, tracer detection method satisfies the requirements of easy detecting and high sensitivity and so on, the new gas tracer F6 in the oil field applications show that the tracer F6 has the characteristics of used few, easy to be examined , the tracing performance well and so on, and makes the very good field application effect. This paper obtains the research results, have supplemented the oil field liquid type, have solved the oil field gas tracing difficult problem, have the very good application prospect in the oil field.
