In this study, "3S" technology was taken as platform ,and Inner Mongolia's Wulantaolegai water source area of WuShen banner's hydrology dynamic changes were taken as object, used the Landsat5 TM image in September 2000 of Wulantaolegai water source area in Inner Mongolia, the SPOT image in September 2006, the Landsat5 TM image in September 2006, hydro-geological maps in 2000 and 2006, Wulantaolegai region's 1:50000 topographical map as basal data and fieldworks as evidences, integrative analyze and research the hydrology dynamic changes of Wulantaolegai water source area, and combined the study region's integrated landscape map, land-use maps, weather information and socio-economic information to analyze reasons of hydrological elements'changes. The research showed:(1)Wulantaolegai water source area'surface water changed significantly. The total area of surface water reduced from 6303.87 hm2 in 2000 to 3506.39 hm2 in 2006, the decrease was 44.38 percent; Swamp surface was the greatest changed ,the area decreased 53.17 percent, from 4901.35hm2in 2000 to 2295.16hm2 in 2006; the decrease of lake area was not very significant, the decrease was 10.29 percent, from 1059.71hm2 in 2000 to 950.69hm2 in 2006; river area decreased 23.99 percent from 342.81hm2 in 2000 to 260.54 hm2 in 2006, the length of the river (including small tributaries) reduced from 33.97km in 2000 to 28.73km in 2006. After the analysis of landscape ecology, Wulantaolegai water source area's fragmentation level of the surface water was growing, landscape connectivity was weakening, the most obvious manifestations of the landscape was swamp surface, it showed that human's interference was enhancing.(2) Wulantaolegai water source area's water level which is in the ground was decreased, especially in the north-east and the central regions of study area, the water level decreased significantly. Integrated land use maps, changes of land-use types directly led to the recharge level drop of groundwater and the groundwater level was reduced.(3) Wulantaolegai water source area's hydrology dynamic changes have a lot of impacted factors, natural factors are mainly precipitation and evaporation, the human factors are mainly agricultural irrigation and life water, compared natural factors and human factors, human factors is the lead role in hydrology dynamic changes.
