Geophysical methods have been routinely used in geology investigations in the past many years in China, but now which could be used to locate contaminations in all kinds of polluted sites after be innovated. In the past the only method we used to characterize polluted sites was drilling. This paper analyses principle and advantages of several Geophysical methods, and also lists feasibility of these methods. By a series of resistivity experiments, we made contaminated loess by mixing loess separately with NaCl, gasoline and leachate. And finally substantiate that we could distinguish contaminated loess and normal loess from their different electrical resistivity. It's proved that High-density Resistivity Electricity Method is very suitable for polluted sites. These studies will provide expedient information for our future development. Additionally we expect our nation government to set up anew concept ------ Environmental Site Investigation, which could beeven helpful in characterize and reuse those polluted sites.
