As the society developing, more and more water are being needed by people . So the seawater development and utilization will be the direction of the developing society because of an insufficiency of freshwater. The treatment of dealing with seawater in high efficiency and low consume will be the focus in this realm. The natural freezing method is a kind of treatment which is in low temperature, based on the phases'separation principle in physics chemistry. It is in other words, as the temperate comes down, pure water was removed from the seawater by crystallization, and the salt was concentrated. Then, the separated clear ice was melted. Various parameters such as salty of the melted ice and waste water concentrate were measured. Theoretically, in most cases, separation efficiency closed to 100% can be achieved. The basic principle and current situation of seawater desalination by natural freeze are introduced briefly. Through artificial climate of chilled experiments in the experimental analysis on the basis of a different freezing temperature, different freezing time ,secondary frozen under the crystallization of salinity , different concentration and salinity of seawater and the relationship established by the freezing temperature and salinity of frozen time of the removal. And the removal of the relationship of the growth of ice crystals were studied. The experiment results show that the natural freezing is an effective method for removing salty in the seawater and obtaining the fresh water. The method of the natural freezing has features of simple process, easy operation, low cost and high efficiency. Especially, it is suitable for the climate of the low temperature and the long winter in the northern part of our country. The use value of seawater and the trends of development and present issues in seawater desalination by natural freeze are elaborated and analyzed respectively.
