In this thesis, lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) and the derivation form lattice Boltzmann to the Navier-Stokes equations are firstly introduced, and then the LBM is used to study the phase structures for incompatible multi-component system. The study is focused on the effect of the addition of the surfactant on the phase structure of oil/water system. The main results obtained are as following:1. The LBM model and its computer simulation program have been built and edited. The results indicate that they are applicable to the study for the incompatible multi-component system under shear flow.2. The effect of shear rate and the viscosity on the phase structure was simulated for the binary and ternary incompatible system under shear flow. The simulation results show that the phase structure can be obviously orientated, and finally lamellar structure can be formed with the increase of shear rate.3. The simulation results indicate that the addition of the surfactant significantly changed the phase structure. Many phase structures and their relations with the composition and shear rate have been obtained in this thesis.
