The aim of this thesis is to setup a lab system for further quantum entanglement exper-iment.In chapter 1, the theory of the cooling and the magneto-optical trap system issummarized. Further, the experiment implementation of quantum entanglement is dis-cussed based on cold atom ensembles. In chapter 2, the principle of the laser cooling and trapping of neutral atom issummarized. Then, the magneto-optical trapping theory is summarized in detail. In chapter 3, the laser linewidth measurement theory and experiment are bothstudied, which are very important in laser system setup of magneto-optical trap system. The results are published in recently Physics Letters A [1].In chapters 4 and 5, the setup of our experiment system is presented and discussedin detail. Firstly, the high degree vacuum system is designed and implemented, thevacuum degree of which is about 2×10-9mbar, with an operation time of over 1 year.Secondly, the laser system used for cooling and repumping is established, togetherwith the frequency stabilization of 780nm Littrow structure external cavity diode laser.Thirdly, new atom releasing mechanism using dispensers is introduced in order to con-trol the atom release to be more accurate. Fourthly, the CCD imaging technique is usedin detecting the result. In chapter 6, several groups using magneto-optical trap on entanglement experi-ment are introduced. They are the single atom trapping research group, the quantumentanglement using cold atom ensembles research group and the quantum entangle-ment evolution research group based on DLCZ (L. M. Duan, M. D. Lukin, J. I. Cirac, and P. Zoller) theory.
