First, according to calculation principle of vertically integrated liquid water (VIL), on the basis of the VIL of the whole atmospheric layer, calculate integrated liquid water above the different heights more detailed, analyze the distribution characteristics and its token meaning of the sheet continuous precipitation, by means of this method spread out VIL application areas, such as the choice of region of weather modification operation, the research of precipitation mechanic, etc. Results shows that: radar VIL can reflect the changes of integrated liquid water above different heights sensitively, display high value areas of VIL, offer a guide of the choice of region of weather modification operation; in addition, a certain layer radar echo just reflect the particle distribution of this layer, but VIL can give the whole distribution of precipitation particles within radar detecting areas more completely. It indicates that VIL is more reasonable for the choice of region of weather modification operation than radar intensity echo.Second, according to the fundamentals and methods of deducing path-integrated cloud liquid water content by an airborne up-looking microwave radiometer, deducing the data of May 23rd, 2007, we found that cloud integrated liquid water content can reflect the distribution of cloud water above flight height sensitively; besides, discuss the twice instrumental calibrations of May, 2007, discover big difference between them. And then, according to the data in ascent and in decent of May 16th, give the vertical profiles measured by three instruments(King-CSIRO,microwave radiometer,F-100) of stratus and find changes of liquid profiles is consistent, but, difference among these instruments in values.Finally, Using the data of a stratiform cloud precipitation process in Changchun on May 16th, 2007, combined with synoptic charts, satellite cloud photograph and radar, analyze the features of cloud particle density,cloud droplet spectrum,radar VIL,integrated cloud liquid water of microwave radiometer and ground precipitation corresponding to the twice leaps of liquid water content. The results show that: the microphysical structure of straitform cloud on horizon undulates greatly, appears obvious twice leaps of liquid water content. The increase of cloud particle density causes the first leaps of cloud liquid water; the second leaps of cloud liquid water content is not only because of the increase of cloud particle but also the widen of partical spectrum; between ground precipitation and radar VIL are positive correlation factor.
