Chifeng locates in the southeast of Neimenggu province, and it is the intersection point of Neimenggu, Hebei and Liaoning provinces. In this area, the mineral resource is rich, the kinds of minerals that have discovered reach more than 70 , and 43 of them have the proven reserves. The amount of ore deposits are more than 1200, and 23 of them are large or middle scale ore deposits. The mineral resource potential value reaches as high as 1000 billion Yuan. The unique geological background and the superior mineralization condition, determine this area to have the big resource potential. Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, Au are scarce minerals of our country. At present, with the national economy developing process, the gap of Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, Au mineral resources in our country will be getting bigger and bigger. How to strengthen the forecast research work of mineralization to instruct the present prospecting work and optimize the electoral prospecting district in the Chifeng scope will be a very urgent duty.In this paper, basing on the thorough research of region mineralization geologic structure environment and mineralization rule, we take the geological theory as the instruction, summarize the region mineralization patterns and the typical ore deposit mineralization model of the main metal mineral resource, analyze geological, geochemical and geophysical information, use the methods and the guidelines of weight evidence, mineralization intensity, mineralization breadth and so on to predict and appraise the Chifeng area's main scare metal mineral resource in the method of GIS. Based on the 3S technology and the corresponding software platforms, we extract the geological, geochemical and geophysical, remote sensing information. Using the mathematical statistic analysis method, we establish the symbols of mineralization information on the multiple source data: the stratum, the structure, the magmatic rock, the magnetism, the aeromagnetic, the geochemistry, the remote sensing data and so on. By the method of weight evidence method which is propose ed by Canadian mathematics geologist Agterberg, mineralization intensity, mineralization breadth, we utilize the symbols of mineralization information to predict and appraise the Chifeng area's main scare metal mineral resource.In the method of GIS, we predict and appraise the Chifeng area's scare metal mineral resource, and give the rationalization comments on minerals general survey, the disposition of ability in the mineral selection and the synthetical utilization mineral resource. In order to raise the economic efficiency, the social efficiency and the ecological benefit, the mining industry's rate must be controlled; the mineral resource superiority must be fully displayed; the mining industry overall quality must be enhanced obviously. According to the overall planning request of Chifeng mineral resource, the development of this industry depends upon the advance in technology, the optimized mining industry structure, the promotion of Chifeng national economy.
