A novel aerobic cellulose-degrading bacterium has recently been isolated, with double plates and filter paper plate, from cornsoil of JiLin province, and designated as strain LG-623. Strain LG-623 can grow by using the filter paper cellulose as sole carbon source. The taxonomic position of strain LG-623 was investigated on the morphologic and biochemical properties. It was dentified a new strain of Sporocytophaga and named Sporocytophaga sp.LG-623.Meanwhile, by studying the cellulolytic mechanism of Sporocytophaga sp.LG-623, the study revealed:Sporocytophaga sp.LG-623 have a extracellular CMCase, and its FP(filter paper)-enzyme is at the cell membrane. One CMCase active component was purified from the culture filtrate of strains Sporocytophaga sp.LG-623. The range of optimal temperatures and optimal pH of this CMCase for hydrolysis of CMC was 50℃and pH5.0. The Zn2+ have a obvious inhibit effect and Fe2+ have a weak increase effect to this CMCase activity.
