Since St. J. Russell proposed the conception of photonic crystal fibers,(PCFs), a lot of universities and institutes have been spending great deal of manpower and material resource on the theory and application research for the PCFs. The results of theory and experment show that the PCFs have many unique optical characteristics. PCFs are a new developing direction of the optical fiber technology.The group-velocity-dispersion properties of photonic crystal fiber(PCF) were investigated in detail by equivalent-index model. The PCF discussed here is made of single material (SiO2), the total dispersion is determined by waveguide dispersion, so the totaldispersion has been divided into waveguide dispersion and material dispersion. The dependence of waveguide dispersion on structure parameters is investigated. It shows that in proper wavelength range, when the relative hole size f is fixed,in the different A, the relationship between the zero and the negative maximum positions of the waveguide dispersion are individual accorded with linear; when the pitch A is fixed, in the different f ,the zero and the negative maximum positions of the waveguide dispersion are individual accorded with linear. |
