With the development of remote sensing technology, not only the application, but also the profundity and accuracy of remote sensing image are expanded. At present, the military application of medium or high resolution satellite images is very widely. The applied fields include country security, military monitoring, missile guidance, etc. Besides, these images exert important influence in military target recognition and positioning, real time tracking, electronic countermeasure, etc. And it will have profound development.The technology of change detection based on remote sensing images can get the changed information of hot point or interesting target by comparing and analyzing the multitemporal remote sensing images, and then managements, like synthesize automatically, are implemented on the changed information, and then the intelligence reports are formed to serve for operates.The theme of this paper is to implement the change detection of military targets based on medium or high resolution satellite images. Methods of change detection that in common used are classified and compared. An automatic change detection technique project that fit for military application is brought forward, and various modules are accomplished.The major works implemented are listed as follows:1. The innovation method of image registration and rectification has made the accuracy and rapidity of image registration higher. The automatic, accurate and speediness registration between remote sensing images based on features is achieved without collecting ground control points artificially.2. A method based on Bayes decision for minimum error is proposed to establish adaptive threshold based on summarizing the original methods in establishing threshold. And another way to establish adaptive threshold based on 2D histogram is achieved too.3. Edge tracking and generalization method of change area is achieved about the features detect results and then a vector, quantitative result is formed.An integrated change detection system for military targets that based on remote sensing image is designed and accomplished in this paper. The process of change detection is innovated and the requirement of automatic and engineering orientation in change detection in military operates is contented.
