Delamination buckling is a significant part of loading capacity analysis of laminated composites. Fundamental governing equations for non-linear delamination buckling of orthotropic composite materials are derived. The fiber bridging factors are incorporated. The asymptotic iteration method (AIM) is adopted to solve the coupling equations. In the first iteration, an analytical solution for linear buckling of orthotropic circular plate is obtained. On the basis of the resulting linear solution, the use of further iteration process results in non-linear characteristic relation between the buckling load and the central deflection, which can be applied readily to evaluate the effect of the fiber bridging factors and the orthotropic parameter on the buckling behavior of the composite materials. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the change of the buckling stress at the edge of the delamination with the different fiber bridging factors and the orthotropic parameter.
