In this paper, based on the investigation in the northern Yellow Sea in summer 2006 and winter 2007, we know the amount and distribution of Heterotrophic bacteria. bacterial biomass, and virioplankton; And the influences of the environmental factors on the Abundance of Heterotrophic bacteria such as temperature, salinity; And the interactions between bacterioplankton , phytoplankton and virus. Besides, The ammonia adsorption nitrification efficiency, the average rate of nitrification and the relationship between particulate matter with ammonia turnover time were studied by the method of on-site investigation and laboratory simulation in spring in Jiaozhou Bay.The results showed :The amount range of Heterotrophic bacteria in the northern Yellow Sea is 0.32-5.24(×10~9L(-1) )in summer and 0.68-2.83(×10~9L(-1) ) in winter. The Abundance of virioplankton is more than planktonic bacteria, and it's range is 0.24-8.66(×10~9L(-1) )in summer and 0.79-5.09 (×10~9L(-1) ) in winter. Heterotrophic bacteria, the bacterial biomass and VIRIOPLANKTON have the similar distributions of water level, There is the obviously influence of human activities on the northern Yellow Sea.In Summer , significant correlation between temperature, salinity and Heterotrophic bacteria is obviously, temperature which is higher than 20°C can limit the growth of the planktonic bacteria and it is known that low salinity can beneficial bacteria, viruses Growth .In winter, temperature, salinity had little effect on the Heterotrophic bacteria and the VIRIOPLANKTON. In the northern Yellow Sea, Phytoplankton ,planktonic bacteria and VIRIOPLANKTON, there was a significant relationship between the three, In Summer the breeding of planktonic bacteria and phytoplankton increase the number of VIRIOPLANKTON ,In winter, the Abundance of VIRIOPLANKTON hane the only relation with phytoplankton. The results showed that the turnover time of ammonia by nitrification is 0.10-3.33d with an average of 1.65d in Jiaozhou Bay. The turnover times in the western and the near bay mouth area were shorter than which in the else area. The turnover time is the longest in the northeast area in Jiaozhou Bay.
