Because of small angle of divergence, narrow velocity spread and high brightness, the applications of cold atom beams in the studies of basic physical problems and atom optics are widely. The important applications include Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) experiment and atom laser. With mean-field theory and the GP equation, The BEC of netural atom in a harmonic trap and numerically simulate interference of two BECs are studied. It will be helpful for further experiment. The thesis consists of four chapters: In chapter one, The laser cooling and neutral atom trapping, BEC, atom laser and atom optics are introduced. In chapter two, firstly, The GP equation which is valid to describe weakly interacting Bose gases at zero-temperature is introduced. Secondly, we present the numerical solutions of the time-independent GP equation that describes the BEC of neutral atoms with attractive interaction in a harmonic trap. Finally, we present the numerical solutions of the time-dependent GP equation. In chapter three, we explore the time evolution of BEC condensates by solving the one-dimension time-dependent GP equation and present numerical results of interference of two condensates which have same or different number of atoms. We summarize the present paper and give an outlook of the future study in this field in chapter four.
